Ross, a well known citizen died at his home on Pacific St., third Ward, on Friday night at 11 o'clock after an illness of three months. Mr. Ross had been employed at the Galena Oil Company's plant and several months ago his system became poisoned from the lead which is need in the manufacture of oils.  For 3 months he had been able to be out, but was unable to work.  On last Thrusday night he was taken violently ill and became unconscious remaining in that condition until his death.  The deceased was a native of Venango County having been born in Rockland twp. 58 years ago.  He had resided in the city for a period of 21 years.  he was twice married.  His first wife who was Miss Ada Logan having died six years ago.  He was married to his second wife a year ago.   She survives with two diaughters and one son as follows.  Mrs. Jennie Rogers, Springfield, Ill., Katherine King of Cleveland, William Ross of Franklin.  Mr. Ross.... was a member of Mays Post, G.A.R., having served in the Civil War, and was a member o First Baptist Church.  The funeral will be held at 2 o'clock on Monday afternoon and will be in charge of Mays post.

 Euphamia "Effie" Stoughton was born in 1810 in Butler Co. PA, probably in Centre Twp., to parents  [[John Stoughton]] and [[Catherine Covert]]. Her parents were married in New Jersey, and left to make their way westward about 15 years before Effie was born.   She was the oldest daughter, with  5 older brothers, 1 younger brother and 3 younger sisters. Polly,the youngest of these, did not survive to adulthood.  Effie married [[Robert Logan]], a farmer, possibly by 1830.  She appears not to have been enumerated in her parents' household in 1830 although she could have been working elsewhere.  Provided that Robert Logan's wife was still Effie Stoughton, by 1840 they had 7 daughters.  Euphamia's death date is unknown.  She is not found in the census of 1850, but Robert, presumably a widower, appears to be living with Euphamia's aunt & uncle, Magdalena & John Wigton.  Magdalena Wigton nee Covert was a sister of [[Catherine Covert]], Euphamia's mother. It is possible that by that date, their daughters were all either married or working & boarding elsewhere.<br>Robert Logan, lacking family at home and possibly needing income, entered service in the Union Army at age 64, and died of exposure at Newport News VA before his 3 yrs service was completed.
