Dorothy, born 31 Mar 1917 in Medicine Lodge, KS, became a world renowned professional violinist, teaching at the Juilliard School in New York City, at Sarah Lawrence College, at the New England Conservatory, and at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. She studied at Michigan State University and the Oberlin Conservatory, and became the assistant of the famed 20th century violin teacher Ivan Galamian before establishing her own teaching studio and founding the Stuyvesant Trio (1939-42).
She died of cancer in NYC at age 85, on 24 Mar 2002.
