BERNARD VONZANT STOUGHTON<br />

4-15-1875 -- 9-15-1958<br />

Bernard V. Stoughton, 83, a native of Butler County, died at 8:05 a.m. Monday in the home of his son, John Elliott Stoughton, 1015 West Third Street, Oil City. Born in Butler County, he was a son of John Elliott and Mahala Wise Stoughton. <br />
<br />
When a young man, Mr. Stoughton was employed by the Wheeler & Dusenbury Lumber Company at Endeavor. In later years, he moved to Oil City where he was employed by the Oil Well Supply Company. He was a member of the Old Guards Club. <br />
<br />
On July 14, 1900, he was united in marriage with Kathleen Esther Wortzkey, daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth Rudolph Wortzkey, a family of ten children, two died in infancy. <br />
<br />
Besides his wife, he is survived by the following children: Mrs. George Danko of Buffalo, N.Y.; John E. Stoughton of Oil City; Vonzant H. Stoughton of Saudi Arabia; Mrs. George Wurster and Mrs. Paul Loper of Venus, and Eugene Stoughton of Anaheim, Calif. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. The body is at the Charles A. Morrison Funeral Home where friends may call. Services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home with Rev. Wayne Beam officiating. Interment will be in the East Hickory Cemetery.</div>Mouser
